Floatation-REST (Reduced Environmental Stimulation Therapy) reduces sensory input of the nervous system, by floating on your back in a float pod. The float pod contains water and 500kg of Magnesium Sulphate, known as Epsom salt. The water depth is around 30 centimetres and is heated to the outer skin temperature. As you settle in the floatation tank, the sensation of water on your skin will slowly fade away and the buoyancy created by the dense Epsom-salt solution, effectively removes the feeling of gravity of your body, bringing you close to an experience of total weightlessness.
Helps with anxiety, stress, depression and pain, improving your overall mood.
Great for recovery, releasing muscle tension and lactic acid. Promotes muscle growth.
Ideal for those trying to conceive,
or relief during pregnancy.
BENEFITS OF FLOATATION THERAPY
Your body absorbs an abundance of healthy minerals such as magnesium and sulphates and both of these minerals
are available in epsom salt. One hour of float time will allow you to supplement your body’s requirement of magnesium.
Reduces stress on the skeletal structure such as your back, hips and joints, allowing your muscles to rejuvenate,
as magnesium is a natural sedative and relieve muscle aches, back pain, migraines, insomnia and much more.
Improves blood circulation and the distribution of oxygen and nutrients.
Promotes total mental and physical calmness.
Reduces blood pressure & heart rate, giving the body a natural way to release stress.
No matter how long you float for, your skin will not form any wrinkles that is normally associated with prolong
water soaking, as the salt is continually absorbed by the skin, allowing the skin to remain smooth and supple.
FOOD & DRINK
Float on a light stomach & avoid drinking
a lot of fluids before you float.
Avoid stimulants such as caffeine and alcohol on the day of your session.
Go into your float with no expectations.
Don't stress if you can't turn off right away.
Let your mind drift off.
Try to avoid moving around.
Allow yourself time before to slow down.
Avoid rushing off after your float.
Reflect on the experience and enjoy a glass of pure one mineral water.
FLOATING RELEASES ENDORPHINS
A study published in 2018 identified that a 60 minute session in a sensory deprivation tank (Float) was capable of reducing anxiety and improving the mood in the 50 participants with stress and anxiety related disorders.
Not only are endorphins released, the brain will also shift into a theta state. Theta brainwaves are a rare brain state, that is normally achievable by people trained extensively in meditation. Floating can help you achieve the deepest state of mind and well being.
